The Philippines, being a large archipelago, has musical styles that vary from region to region. Traditional Filipino music typically employs a
combination of musical instruments such as the kulingtang, agung, gandingan, dabakan and the babendil which are part of the kulintang ensemble typical in southern regions. Other instruments include a bamboo zither, log drums, the Kudyapi two stringed boat lute, flutes, bandurria, mandola, la-ud guitarra and the guitar shaped octavina to name a few.
