I recently hired an incredibly talented graphic design company ( http://www.bernarddesigngroup.com) to develop the brand identity for Heroes of Color. It's all starting to come together.
I was always fascinated by vintage looking typography designs. I don't know that I have a full grasp of how to do it just yet, but I am constantly looking at images online to help inspire my typography designs. Infographics are like candy to my eyes. Whether it's a still image or animating, I hope to improve the look of this piece by adding some elements of that "infographic" style to this short.
With all of the racial tensions going on right now, I feel the timing is perfect for this project. I'm more motivated now to create work that helps to inspire people. I have updated my marketing plan. I am half way into this and super excited about getting this heroes of color video series completed.
This scene is pretty much done. I am working on the motion graphics now for this scene. The timing was just a bit off, but I managed to make it work. The square dots you see on my hand are the movements of the hand animating. I have been pulled off the project for sometime now, but am so incredibly anxious to get back on this! It's coming out amazing. I will keep posting updates.
Ok, this was an awesome image that I used as reference. An action figure of Henry Johnson battling a german.
When the United States declared war on Germany in 1917, hundreds of African Americans from Harlem, NY rushed to join the Army National Guard. The reason for this rush to join, was not just to prove their worth as competent soldiers, but to gain the respect and basic civil rights that they have been denied for years as Americans.
