Description: Hip-Hop was born and raised on the streets
of New York. Emerging in the mid to late 1970's,
Hip-Hop was a method of creative expression including what are
known in the culture as the elements of Hip-Hop; rapping, b-boying
(breakdancing), djing and graffiti. It was a time where disputes
were settled with acrobatics and flamboyant dance moves on top
large cardboard. They had a unique style of dress which resulted
in creating an iconic cutural and social dress code, which crossed
over into the mainstream and was soon copied worldwide. The block
parties and jams in the park, nurtured the craft of djing, while
the NYC streets and subway cars were overflowing with graffiti,
becoming the prefered canvas for talented graffiti artists all
over the city.
